Part 129: The Epic of Gilgaluf - Chapter 2
I wish I knew a way to prevent these motivational issues... Anyway! The Epic of Gilgaluf - Chapter 2
I had a productive session the first time; let's see how far I can go this time!
I will learn Flash. NOW!
PAWNCH! (/meme)
Vs. Magissa and Forza.
: ...Why do I keep getting blunt weapons?
:
Boss Deaths: 0
Total Boss Deaths: 0
Weapons Used On Boss: Flail (I rolled Staff again, but I figured we've seen that quite enough already, so I rerolled, though admittedly part of that was to see if there was something wrong with the randomizer)
Other Deaths: 0
New weapon. Will I ever use it? Who knows?
The hell you talking about? Lenna's been dead since I recruited her, and she will continue to be dead for the entirety of the game (with the possible exception of getting Zombied)!
And now the traditional "loot Tycoon" sequence. This could be interesting, if I ever get to use it on a boss.
The Healing Staff, on the other hand... will, with a few exceptions, be a "dud" result akin to Excalipoor.
And this is just gonna be a "troll the boss" result, I'd say.
Over in Walse, I grab these for Galuf (since he's the only one I bother with the Attack command for).
Just to mix things up a bit.
Don't need the helmet because I've got Tycoon's Mythril Helm from North Mountain, but the other Iron stuff is good for Galuf, and the Gi helps Enkidu. Now if I could just get my hands on a new hat that a Blue Mage can wear...
In case you're wondering, yes, I saved before this fool's errand.
Frickin' Moon Flute... Guess it's time for Quicksave abuse!
Other Deaths: 2 (would've been 1, but I forgot to screenshot the death and so tried again)
This spell is so frickin' worthless that it makes you wonder why they even programmed it in...
THIS, on the other hand, is worth bothering.
Preparing to get some new weapons a while before I'd be able to buy them now.
Namely, two of these. And yes, I isolate the Toad for Pond's Chorus.
: Yoink!
Vs. Shiva. Gotta say, I wasn't expecting Pond's Chorus to come in handy this soon...
: Huh. Waddaya know, I got the thing you just stole for me.
: Yay on you, pal. Now help me turn these guys into toads.
Boss Deaths: 1
Total Boss Deaths: 1
Weapons Used On Boss: Mythril Sword, Frost Rod (I would've laughed if THAT one had worked)
Other Deaths: 2
I may or may not use the !Summon command, but if I do Shiva'll be handy for a bit.
...I didn't realize this chest was accessible in World 1...
Might as well steal this as an update to my Dagger; I won't be ditching that until I get out of here, and the odds're getting lower that I'll actually use it, but an upgrade's an upgrade.
Vs. Garula. Since he's so weak (if you can use status effects), I end up messing around a little with the Blue Magic. Naturally, I immediately resort to Flash, so he accomplishes very little; the Pond's Chorus later on is just to troll him.
: ...Well, at least it's a DIFFERENT stick...
: We don't even HAVE the old stick anymore.
Boss Deaths: 0
Total Boss Deaths: 1
Weapons Used On Boss: Frost Rod
Other Deaths: 2
I feel sorry for Mega64 since he was crazy enough to play Zerky!...
Anyway, after the tower sinks (yet again), I remember that there's probably a magic store in Walse and head over to investigate. Introductory Time and Summon spells obtained, I guess.
Picked this one up pretty much completely by accident after using the meteor to warp to the Karnak region. Saves me the trouble of looking for it, though, so that's good. Whether I'll ever actually USE it, on the other hand... Well, probably not, actually, since I can just Vampire for comparable results with the additional bonus of healing myself.
Anyway, I'll camp just outside Karnak, then save- I can continue later, after all.
Current weapon list: Knife, Dagger, Mythril Knife, Mythril Sword, Battle Axe, Ashura, Frost Rod, Healing Staff, Flail, Whip, Diamond Bell
Next time: FIRE!!! Hopefully things go fairly smoothly for the Karnak sequence...
